UDRI is providing engineering services to assess
the viability of advanced structural concepts for aerospace vehicles. These concepts are
multidisciplinary in nature, such as morphing wings that combine structural, aerodynamic, and
controls technologies to achieve vehicle performance gains. UDRI is building FEA models
and conducting thermo-mechanical analysis to assess concept structural performance, and
ultimately seeks to develop a modeling methodology for design and optimization of advanced
structural concepts for multidisciplinary applications.
